Loneliness at Westfield is an exploration of the big mall commercial centres that are growing all over Europe.

I start think about shoot and represent this phenomena ages ago but always find quite difficult to organize it as difficult to get a permit to shoot, but when I was living in London  few years ago and saw this huge mall, I had to shoot it.

Compare to the street markets where I grow up as child, commercial mall centres aren't anything like that. The chatting street market atmosphere disappears in a huge and cold construction. Everything seems fake and artificial, from the light to the atmosphere, and the space seems to be designed to leave emptiness around people and avoid human interaction between individuals. Everything is suspended in a fake shopping world...
